Micro Needling improves the skin by improving thickness of the dermis as well as the epidermis. This in return improves skin texture and reduces wrinkles. It can also have a positive effect on hyper-pigmentation as well as on hypo-pigmentation. Disfiguring scars, especially acne scars, can many times also be improved. New collagen fibres elevate any depressed scar tissue. An improved blood supply (neo-angiogenesis) into the previous fibrotic scar tissue also harmonises and blends the pigmentation with the periphery skin.
What conditions can be treated with Micro Needling?
Micro Needling treatment is known to improve stretch marks, acne scarring, wrinkles, sagging skin and skin texture.
What does the Micro-needling treatment involve?
The Micro Needling treatment begins by numbing and cleaning the skin. A micro needling device shaped like a pen is made up of 12 tiny needles used to make tiny piercings in the skin to open the pores temporarily. The body thinks its been injured so it naturally defends itself by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. By the end of the treatment Vitamin C or alternative is used to hydrate, heal and protect the skin.
Is there any downtime?
Normally patients will experience inflammation of the skin that lasts a few hours. Redness may also be present and can last up to 48 hours. We suggest wearing sunscreen to protect the skin and avoid wearing makeup until you have fully recovered.
Can Micro Needing be used on any skin type and colour?
